Building A Base of Worker Leaders
Since opening in 2002, the ACWC has collaborated with over 2,000 workers, and has recovered more than $3.6 million in owed wages and due compensation; dozens have won discrimination and worker compensation cases, and some have led successful union campaigns. The Center boasts over 200 members and a ten-member Worker Board of Directors. Our goal is to develop worker leaders who will help fellow workers. To join, one attends a worker rights workshop, pays a $5 monthly membership due, and agrees to support other members.
