ACWC provides weekly onsite, free Worker Rights Workshops (in Spanish, Polish and English,) as well as at community partner host sites including schools, congregations, and social service agencies. Our goal is to raise consciousness regarding power in the workplace and to motivate workers toward collective action. The overarching areas covered include: wage and hour, health and safety, accidents and injuries, time off, and discrimination. Presenters engage participants with questions and examples that lead to discussion. Additionally, ACWC publishes the highly effective, plain-language Illinois and federal labor law Worker Rights Manual, the only resource of its kind. It is available for donwload on our website. If you are interested in hard copies of the manual, please contact Director of Operations, Shelly Ruzicka at x103 or shelly@arisechicago.org.
